Nishali Patel
Cancer Pharmacist and Clinical Lead in the Digital Medicines Programme, NHS England
With a passion for digital transformation, Nishali Patel is a Cancer Pharmacist and Clinical Lead in the Digital Medicines Programme at NHS England. She is leading on increasing adoption of the Electronic Prescription Service in Secondary care and is the Clinical Safety Officer for EPS FHIR. She recently led the national delivery of ‘Digital Prescriptions’ in the NHS App and is driving efforts towards enhancing prescription tracking as the next feature on the roadmap.

Darren Powell
Senior Clinical Lead for Live Services, NHS England
With over 25 years of clinical experience, Darren Powell is a Senior Clinical Lead for Live Services, NHS England. He is managing the operational activities of Live Services and is responsible for the clinical assurance of systems connecting to the live environment. He is the national lead for the live EPS where 1 billion digital prescriptions are sent every year from GPs to community pharmacies and has been engaged in rolling the latest development of EPS to secondary care and other care settings. He is also a consultant for NHS England to NHS Wales (GIG Cymru) to support and help develop their clinical assurance team for the rollout of the EPS.

Leo Martin-Scott
Digital Medicines Pharmacist, Somerset NHS Foundation Trust
Leo Martin-Scott has been working within the realm of digital medicines management for the past 8 years. He has been involved in the development of the NHS interoperability standards which have supported the integration of ePMA systems with other medicines management systems. He has led the deployment of Better Meds across 11 different sites in Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, spanning 3 different PAS systems. He has played a significant role in the integration of Better Meds with Somerset shared care record and the ongoing work on introducing EPS for secondary care at the Trust.
