Community guidelines
Hive is a global community of health‑IT learners who explore openEHR, AQL, Better Studio, and related topics together. We believe that everyone should have access to friendly, practical learning resources. These guidelines set a shared understanding of what it means to be part of Hive. Please read them carefully. The Hive team may act on any behaviour that does not live up to these principles.
1. Always be respectful
We come together from different cultures and skill levels, all aiming to learn and grow. Celebrate curiosity and constructive questions. Treat everyone with patience and kindness and remember that tone can be hard to read in text.
2. Help and support across all skill levels
Learning healthcare tech is challenging and takes courage. If someone makes a mistake or asks a basic question, offer clear, calm help. Heckling and mockery block learning and will be removed.
3. Embrace and share domain differences
Healthcare data modelling varies by country, organisation, and clinical domain. Welcome these differences with an open mind. Explain local practices rather than dismissing them.
4. Use channels properly
Each channel has a short description at the top. Read it before posting so content stays easy to find. Search first, post second, to avoid repeating questions.
5. Tag responsibly
Mention @people or @everyone only when truly helpful. Unnecessary pings clutter notifications.
6. Keep memes and jokes thoughtful
Light‑hearted posts can boost morale, but spammy memes or inside jokes make real questions hard to spot. Share fun content sparingly and use language that all members can understand.
7. Think before you share
Do not post or solicit contact info (yours or others’) in public channels. Any attempt to move conversations off-platform will be removed unless approved.
8. Links to this Website
Those wishing to place a link to this Website on other sites may do so only to the home page of the site hive.better.care without Our prior permission. Deep linking (i.e. links to specific pages within the site) requires Our express written permission. To find out more please contact Us by email at hive@better.care.
9. Please don’t use Hive to ...
- Attack, harass, or threaten any person or group.
- Post hate symbols or discriminatory language.
- Share pornographic, excessively violent, or illegal content.
- Spam links, ads, or self‑promotional material.
- Script or cheat in ways that harm the platform or learners.
- Impersonate someone in a misleading manner.
- Leak personal or confidential data about yourself or others.
10. In short
Hive will remove any content that breaks the spirit of these guidelines, and accounts may lose access without warning. By following these principles, we all contribute to a vibrant, helpful learning space. Enjoy the journey and keep the buzz positive!
